Ghost of Dead Slot Overview

Ghost of Dead is an Egyptian-themed slot from Play’n GO with a 5x3 layout and 10 paylines. It sticks to the familiar book-style expanding symbol setup, but adds a random Ghost Spin in the base game, which I actually found makes the whole thing feel less flat. My first impression is pretty decent, mate, because it keeps the simple format and gives it a bit more life.

I’d call it a high-volatility game with a default RTP of 96.21%, though that can vary depending on where you play. Bets run from 0.01 up to 100, and it works on mobile as well. For a relaxed session, it is easy enough to follow, but the base game can still drag a bit between the good moments.

Ghost of Dead Slot Information

5 reels, 3 rows and 10 lines keep things old-school, which is fair enough if you like simple slots. Wins land from left to right, and most symbols need 3 or more on adjacent reels. Higher paying symbols, and the wild, can pay from 2 of a kind, which helps a bit when the reels are being stingy.

Premium symbols are the Ankh, Snake, Scarab and Mask, while the lower-paying lot are 10, J, Q, K and A. Five matching royals pay between 8x and 12x the bet, and five premiums pay between 60x and 1000x. The top symbol is Pharaoh Unas' mask. If that one fills the screen as the expanding symbol, one review puts the payout at 10,000x, which is proper chunky.

Ghost of Dead Slot Features

Randomly, the Ghost Spin feature can pop in during the base game. A symbol gets picked as the expanding one for that spin, and if enough of it lands, 2 or more premium symbols or 3 or more royals, those reels expand. Best part is they do not need to be adjacent to pay, so even a scrappy screen can suddenly turn decent.

Land 3 or more scatter-wild symbols and you get 10 Free Spins, plus a scatter win of 2x, 20x or 200x for 3, 4 or 5 triggers. Before the round starts, you choose 1 of 3 random symbols to be the expanding symbol for the whole feature. Re-triggers are on, and if 3 or more scatters land again, you get 10 more spins and keep the same chosen symbol.

Awakened Free Spins are the stronger version. If the bonus starts with Spectral Scatters, you still get 10 spins and pick 1 of 3 symbols, but the game also adds another expanding symbol during the feature. Another review says that extra symbol can be newly selected on each spin, so either way, this mode is the one with more punch. There is also a Gamble option after wins if you fancy risking them for 2x or 4x.

💬 What Players Say
Reviews are generally positive on the random Ghost Spin and the Awakened bonus with two expanding symbols. The main complaint is that the base game still has that familiar book-slot grind, and some versions may use lower RTP settings. Based on 2 reviews.

Ghost of Dead Slot Conclusion

Honestly, I think Ghost of Dead is one of the better spins on the old book formula. The random Ghost Spin gives the base game a kick, and the Awakened bonus is the real reason to stay for a longer session. Being able to choose your expanding symbol is a nice touch as well, even if the choice is limited.

I would still say go in with the right expectations. It is high-volatility, the base game can feel a bit dry, and the RTP may vary. But if you like this sort of slot and want something familiar with a couple of decent twists, it is not bad at all for a relaxed punt.

Ghost of Dead FAQ
How does the Ghost Spin feature work in Ghost of Dead?
It can trigger randomly during the base game. A symbol is picked as the expanding symbol for that spin, and if enough of it lands, the reels with that symbol expand and can pay even when they are not adjacent.
What triggers the regular Free Spins bonus?
You need 3 or more scatter-wild symbols on the same spin. That gives 10 free spins, a scatter payout of 2x, 20x or 200x for 3, 4 or 5 triggers, and a choice of 1 expanding symbol from 3 random options.
What is different about Awakened Free Spins?
Awakened Free Spins start when the bonus is triggered by Spectral Scatters instead of the regular ones. You still get 10 spins and pick 1 symbol, but the feature also adds another expanding symbol, which makes the round feel much stronger.
Can the free spins re-trigger?
Yes, both bonus versions can re-trigger with 3 or more scatters. Each re-trigger adds 10 more spins, and the previously selected expanding symbol stays in play.
What is the maximum win and how do you hit it?
The reviews conflict a bit here, with one stating 5,000x and another mentioning 10,000x potential in the game. The biggest prize mentioned comes from landing a full screen of the top expanding symbol, Pharaoh Unas' mask.
