Temple of Wealth Overview
Temple of Wealth is a Chinese-themed jackpot slot from Play'n GO, running on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win. It sits alongside Celebration of Wealth and Beast of Wealth as part of a trilogy of Asian progressive jackpot games. Bets start from 10p up to 100 quid per spin.
Visually, it leans hard into the traditional Chinese look. Red pillars, piles of gold, smiling Caishen, leaping koi fish; the works. I reckon you either love this sort of thing or find it a bit overdone. Personally, I think it looks decent enough, but the theme is nothing you haven't seen a hundred times before. The RTP sits at 96.20% with high volatility, and max win is 5,000x your stake.
Symbols and Paytable
Twelve symbols populate the reels here. Five low-pay royals (10 through A) sit at the bottom of the table, paying between 0.1x and 0.8x your stake for five of a kind. Not exactly thrilling, but they fill the gaps. Five premium symbols do the heavier lifting: gold coins, a sycee ingot, a golden fish, a Fu baby, and Caishen himself at the top paying 10x for a full line of five.
A mysterious red door acts as the Wild, substituting for everything except the Scatter. It pays the same as Caishen, so 10x for five. The Scatter is a Yin Yang symbol that pays out 5x, 10x, or 50x your stake for three, four, or five anywhere on the reels, and triggers the Free Spins round.
Symbol Payouts
Scatter
Triggers free spins when 3 or more land; also pays 5x, 10x, or 50x stake for 3, 4, or 5.
Wild (Red Door)
Substitutes for all symbols except Scatter; also triggers jackpot when landing on a Gold Reel.
Fu Baby
Second highest paying premium symbol.
Golden Fish
Mid-tier premium symbol depicting a golden koi fish.
Gold Hat (Sycee)
Low-tier premium symbol depicting a yuanbao ingot.
10
Lowest paying royal symbol.
Bonus Features
Land three or more Yin Yang Scatters and you unlock Free Spins. Before the round starts, you pick from six options that balance spins against Mystery Symbols: 20 spins with 8 mystery symbols, 15 with 18, 12 with 28, 10 with 38, or 8 spins with a whopping 48 mystery symbols. A sixth option is a lucky dip that randomly assigns both. I like having that choice; it puts a bit of control back in your hands.
Mystery symbols are the proper highlight here. When they land, they stick and spread one position up or down each spin until they cover the full reel, then vanish. All mystery symbols on screen reveal the same paying symbol at once, so a good run of them can produce some tidy wins. Fair warning though, free spins cannot be retriggered in this one, which is a shame.
The Progressive Jackpot feature triggers randomly during base game only. Between 1 and 5 reels can turn into Gold Reels on any spin, and if a Wild lands on one of those golden reels, you enter the jackpot pick game. You flip coins from a 4x3 grid until you match three of the same animal: turtles for Mini, phoenixes for Minor, tigers for Major, or dragons for Grand. Bigger bets improve your chances of getting there.
Bonus Buy Options
Land 3+ Yin Yang scatters to trigger free spins. Choose from 6 options balancing number of spins (8-20) with mystery symbols (8-48), or pick a random lucky dip. Mystery symbols stick and spread vertically, then reveal the same paying symbol.
During base game, 1-5 reels may randomly turn gold. Land a Wild on a Gold Reel to enter the jackpot pick game. Choose coins from a 4x3 grid until you match 3 symbols for Mini, Minor, Major, or Grand jackpot.
RTP and Volatility
RTP is 96.20% at the top end, which is about average for the industry. But here's the catch: it is variable, and settings can go as low as 84.20%. Always worth checking which version your casino runs before you commit any real money. That lower end is properly rough.
Volatility is rated high, 8 out of 10 according to Play'n GO. Expect dry spells in the base game broken up by bigger wins when features land. A portion of each bet (1.5%) feeds the progressive jackpots, which partly explains why regular payouts can feel a bit thin.
