Rich Wilde and the Tome of Dead: Slot Overview
Rich Wilde and the Tome of Dead is a Cluster Pays grid slot from Play'n GO, released on 24 April 2025 as the 17th entry in the Wilde series. Symbols drop onto a 5x5 matrix where clusters of 4+ matching icons connected horizontally or vertically form wins. Winning symbols vanish, and new ones cascade down to fill gaps.
From a math perspective, the numbers tell you this is a medium-volatility game with a default RTP of 96.21% and a 5,000x max win. Bets range from 0.10 to 100 per spin. Five RTP configurations exist (84.2%, 87.2%, 91.2%, 94.2%, 96.21%), and Play'n GO does not disclose which version any given operator runs. That lack of transparency is a recurring frustration with this studio's releases.

Symbols and Paytable
Four canopic jars with falcon, baboon, human, and wolf heads make up the low-pay tier. Clusters of 4 start at just x0.1 bet, scaling to x3 through x6 for clusters of 10+. Four high-pay symbols represent a Pharaoh, Anubis, Ankh, and a Scarab/Ra icon. A cluster of 10+ Pharaoh symbols pays 100x bet; Anubis pays 40x, Scarab 30x, and Ankh 25x.
Looking at the paytable structure, the gap between low and high symbols is enormous. Canopic jars at 10+ cluster size max out at 3x to 6x, while premiums reach 25x to 100x. This makes the Judgment Ritual effect, which upgrades jars into statues, a critical value driver. Without that transformation, base game clusters rarely produce meaningful returns on their own.

Wild Types and Multipliers
Three wild variants exist in this slot. Altar Wilds substitute for all pay symbols and can trigger Ritual effects. Multiplier Wilds, depicted as Rich Wilde himself, carry x2, x3, x4, or x5 in the base game. During the Banishment Free Spin, those values jump to x2, x3, x5, or x10. Only the highest multiplier applies when multiple Multiplier Wilds share a cluster.
Ammit the Devourer Wild is a 2x2 symbol exclusive to the bonus round. It walks three times across the grid, contributing to any cluster it touches. Here is where the maths gets interesting: when Ammit and a Multiplier Wild appear in the same cluster, their values multiply rather than defaulting to the highest. A x10 Multiplier Wild paired with Ammit's own value creates the strongest payouts in the game.
I should note that base game multiplier ceilings are conservative. A x5 cap on a medium-volatility slot with cluster pays means individual hit values stay modest. The real EV sits in the bonus round where x10 multipliers and Ammit multiplication combine.

Ritual Meter and Banishment Free Spin
Every winning symbol charges the Ritual meter on the left side of the grid. Four thresholds exist. Protection at 8 charges awards 2 to 4 Altar Wilds. Devour at 16 charges does the same but also destroys symbols at specific diagonal and vertical distances when those wilds win. Judgment at 30 charges upgrades a canopic jar into a high-pay statue. Banishment at 48 charges triggers the free spin.
Reaching 48 charges in a single spin sequence demands sustained cascades, which is no small ask. The Banishment Free Spin is a single spin loaded with 3 guaranteed Ritual effects. Overcharging the meter beyond 48 awards one extra effect per 4 additional winning symbols, capping at 7 total. A random Ritual effect fires each time cascades end without a win. Meanwhile, 12 regular and 6 special All-Seeing Eyes appear beneath the grid. Opening all regular eyes summons Ammit; activating 4, 5, or 6 special eyes attaches x2, x3, or x4 multipliers to it.
