Jolly Roger Slot Overview
Jolly Roger is a pirate-themed video slot from Play'n GO, built on a 5x3 layout with 15 ways to win. It has low volatility, a top win of 4,000x, and two bonus rounds built as simple pick-em games. I found it decent for a laid-back session, though it feels very much like an early video slot rather than a polished modern one.

Symbols and Paytable
5 reels and 3 rows keep things nice and straightforward, mate. You get 15 fixed lines, Wilds and Scatters in regular play, and the rest of the symbol set is bright and easy to read. Nothing fancy here, which is fair enough if you just want to spin without learning loads of mechanics.
Visual quality is where the age shows a bit. The symbols are clear, but the animations are basic, like crossed swords and simple little win effects. I didn't mind that too much, though anyone used to later Play'n GO games might think it looks proper dated.

Bonus Rounds
Both bonus games are pick-em rounds, and that is the main thing that breaks up the base game. Out of the two, the chest bonus is the one with the better chance of a bigger hit. The bonus game is said to land on average once every 33 spins, so it is not bad for a casual run.
I quite liked that the bonuses are easy to understand. No layers, no complicated rules, just pick and see what you get. Still, the base game can drag a bit between features, and the bonus presentation is basic rather than exciting.

Design and Sound
Feels like an older slot straight away. The pirate theme is familiar enough, with a wooden ship backdrop and simple little effects when wins land. Sounds are a bit odd next to the visuals, because the reels click like a mechanical machine, while the game itself looks fully video-based.
Win sounds do give it a bit of character. Cannons fire, and the gold coin symbol gets a calypso tune, which is a nice touch. Even so, I am not entirely sold on the whole presentation, because it looks and feels more late-1990s than timeless.
