Honey Rush Slot Overview
Honey Rush is a Cluster Pays slot from Play'n GO that ditches the standard reel setup for a hexagonal honeycomb grid. 37 symbol positions sit in a 4-5-6-7-6-5-4 formation, and you win by landing clusters of five or more matching symbols touching each other. Released back in October 2019, it still looks proper fresh thanks to the unusual layout and chaining features.
I'd heard people compare it to Reactoonz and Jammin' Jars, so I had to give it a spin. Honestly, it feels a bit different from both. There are no free spins at all here. Instead, a Rush Meter drives everything, unlocking Colony features and Sticky Wilds as you rack up consecutive wins. Bets run from 0.20 to 100 per spin, max win sits at 9,000x, and volatility is very high.

Symbols and Paytable
Low-paying symbols are four different flowers: blue, pink, red rose, and sunflower. They all pay the same, up to 20x your bet for a massive 35-symbol cluster. High payers are a bronze coin, silver coin, gold coin, and a diamond. A cluster of 35 high-paying symbols pays between 50x and 200x your stake, with the diamond being the top earner.
Wild is a honey pot, and you can only get it through the Rush Meter. No scatter symbol exists because there are no free spins. Each Wild carries a multiplier of 1x, 2x, or 3x. If multiple Wilds land in the same winning cluster, their multipliers multiply together for up to 27x. That's where the big money hides, mate.

Bonus Features
Every winning symbol removed from the grid fills the Rush Meter. Four levels to climb: 20 symbols gets you a Drone Colony plus one Sticky Wild, 40 symbols another Drone Colony and Wild, 80 symbols a third round of the same, and 160 winning symbols triggers the big one, the Queen Colony. Cascading Reels clear winning clusters and drop new symbols in, so a decent chain can fill the meter surprisingly fast.
Colony features are the heart of the game. Drone Colony clones the centre symbol outward to make a 7-symbol cluster. Worker Colony fires randomly on any non-winning spin and creates a cluster of 7 to 15 matching symbols. Queen Colony is the beast, converting 20 to all 37 positions into the same symbol.
Sticky Wilds hang around until no more wins or queued Colony features remain. They move position after each cascade, which keeps things unpredictable. I found the Wilds carry enough weight to keep the base game interesting, even without free spins. Getting to 160 symbols sounds impossible, but it happens more often than you'd think once the Wilds start helping.
Bonus Buy Options
RTP, Volatility, and Max Win
Default RTP is 96.50%, which is a bit above average. Fair warning though, operators can set it lower; versions at 94.50%, 91.50%, 87.50%, and 84.50% exist. Always worth checking what your casino runs. Volatility is very high on Play'n GO's scale, so expect dry patches. Not the slot for a tight bankroll.
Max win caps at 9,000x your bet. Not the highest you'll find these days, but still a proper payout if you land it. Everything happens in the base game since there's no separate bonus round; the Colony features and multiplied Wilds stack up to produce those bigger hits. I'd say budget at least 200 spins at your chosen stake to give the meter enough chances to fill.
