Forge of Gems: Slot Overview

Forge of Gems is a Play'n GO video slot in the Gem range, played on a 5x3 main grid with a horizontal Forge Reel above it. The base model starts at 243 ways and can reach 36,288 through splitter symbols. I see the core identity as modifier-driven cascades, not a simple gem reskin.

RTP peaks at 96.20%, with alternative versions at 94.20%, 91.20%, 87.20% and 84.20%. Volatility is very high, rated 10/10, and the maximum win is 20,000x. Bets run from 0.10 to 100. From a math perspective, that combination points to a slot built around long dry patches and concentrated upside.

Forge of Gems Slot Information

Paytable structure is low in raw symbol values. Card ranks 10, J, Q, K and A pay 0.3x to 0.4x for five of a kind, while the pink, green, yellow and blue gems pay 0.5x to 1x. The diamond wild pays 3x for five and substitutes for paying symbols, but not scatter or Forge Reel symbols.

Scatter value sits in the red gemstone. Three scatters can award a 20x instant prize, four can award 30x, and five or more can award 40x, with free spins also possible through the Gembox. Looking at the paytable structure, the regular symbols are not the profit engine. The modifiers need to do the heavy lifting.

Forge of Gems: Slot Features

Cascade activates whenever a winning combination lands. Winning symbols are removed, symbols from the Forge Reel drop into the gaps, and new positions are refilled. This can repeat while fresh wins appear. The top reel then adds vertical wilds, horizontal wilds, vertical splitters, horizontal splitters, multiplier symbols and blanks.

Win Multiplier symbols increase the current multiplier by 1x. In the base game it resets before the next paid spin, which limits its average value. In free spins, it persists. Splitter symbols are the other key lever because they increase the number of ways, up to 36,288, and this is where the game can move from small hits to meaningful exposure.

Forge of Gems Slot Features

Gembox triggers from 3 or more red gemstone scatters. Three scatters can give 8 or 10 free spins plus a 20x instant prize option, four can give 10 or 15 free spins plus 30x, and five or more can give 10, 15 or 20 free spins plus 40x. The award can be instant prizes, free spins, or both.

Free Spins change the expected behaviour of the engine. Blank symbols do not appear on the Forge Reel, a multiplier symbol is guaranteed, and the multiplier carries from the triggering spin and does not reset between free spins. Scatters do not appear in the round, so extra free spins cannot be re-triggered.

Ryan Cole’s Verdict

Forge of Gems: Slot Verdict

Maths first, Forge of Gems is a high-variance modifier engine with a clear 20,000x ceiling. The numbers tell you why the base game can drag a bit: low symbol pays, a multiplier that resets, and a dependence on cascade chains. Once the Forge Reel starts feeding wilds, splitters and multipliers, the model has real acceleration.

Critically, I am not entirely sold on the theme. The forge setting is hot on screen, but the game can feel cold and slightly generic. Mechanically, though, it is well assembled. Players who accept very high volatility get expanding ways, persistent free spins multipliers and a bonus round with stronger reel composition because blanks are removed.

Forge of Gems FAQ
How many ways to win can the grid reach?
Winning ways start at 243 on the 5x3 layout and can expand to 36,288 when splitter symbols from the Forge Reel land during cascades.
What triggers the Gembox feature?
Landing 3 or more red gemstone scatters triggers Gembox. The feature can award instant prizes, free spins, or both, with better ranges at 4 and 5 or more scatters.
Does the multiplier reset after every spin?
In the base game, the Win Multiplier resets before each new paid spin. In Free Spins, it stays active across the full round and the triggering multiplier carries over.
Can free spins be re-triggered?
No. Scatters do not appear during Free Spins, so the round cannot be re-triggered.
Is there a Bonus Buy option?
No Bonus Buy is described in the reviewed material. Access to the bonus comes through 3 or more scatter symbols.
