Fire Toad 2 Slot Overview
Fire Toad 2 is a 5x4 ways slot from Play'n GO, built around upgrading toad symbols and splitting them for extra ways. You get 1,024 ways to win as standard, though that can stretch further when symbols split. I found it a decent sequel, proper easy to follow, with a fiery swamp theme and a few extra ideas that give it more depth than the first game.
Stats-wise, it runs at 96.20% RTP, medium-high volatility, and a max win of 5,300x the bet. Stakes start at 0.10 and go up to 100. The hit frequency sits at 31.05%, so it lands enough small stuff to keep the reels moving, but the base game can still drag a bit if the upgrades do not show.
Fire Toad 2 Slot Information
Symbols are split into low pays and premium toads. The low lot are diamonds, clubs, hearts, and spades, paying 0.4x to 0.5x the bet for five of a kind. The premiums are five stages of the toad's evolution, from younger forms up to the top adult symbol, paying 0.6x to 2.5x the bet for five.
Scatters show up as a glowing butterfly, and they also work as Wilds, which is a nice touch. Wins land from left to right on adjacent reels, starting with at least 3 matching symbols, though the top-paying toad can also pay with 2. Visually, the prehistoric pond and lava backdrop look pretty slick, fair enough, even if I am not entirely sold on the theme itself.

Fire Toad 2 Slot Features
2 scatters in the base game trigger Toad Upgrade. When that happens, every lower-paying toad on the screen upgrades to match the toad shown in the carousel above the reels. Golden Lilypads can then randomly appear on reel 3, and if a winning toad lands there, it splits into two and opens extra payways. It is simple, but it works.
3 or more scatters trigger Free Spins, and you pick one of two modes. Normal Upgrade Trail gives 9, 12, or 15 spins for 3, 4, or 5 scatters and starts from level 1. Best Upgrade Trail gives 5, 6, or 7 spins and starts from level 4 with the highest-paying toads already in play. Same average payout, but the best trail is the sharper option.
5 Inferno scatters collected during free spins unlock Inferno Spins at the end of the feature. You get 3 respins, and any toad symbols that land stay stuck in place. After the respins finish, toads on Golden Lilypads split and the game pays all way wins. During free spins, Golden Lilypads are always active, retriggers add 3 to 5 spins up to 60 total, and each retrigger removes the lowest-value toad from the trail.

Fire Toad 2 Slot Conclusion
Compared with the first game, I think Fire Toad 2 has more going on and is more fun for a relaxed session if you like upgrade-style slots. The free spins choice is the best part for me, because you can go for a steadier path or just chase the stronger setup straight away. Inferno Spins are a decent extra as well, not massive, but they add a bit of late tension.
Still, I would not call it a must-play. Golden Lilypads being stuck on reel 3 feels a bit limited, and the jump in max win from 5,000x to 5,300x is not exactly wild. If you fancy medium-high volatility, split-symbol wins, and a sequel with a bit more depth than the original, it is not bad at all, mate. If you want constant fireworks, you might find the base game too quiet.
