Diamonds of the Realm Overview

Diamonds of the Realm is a medieval slot from Play'n GO released on 12 August 2021. Chat, we're back at Camelot with King Arthur and Queen Guinevere hunting down stolen diamonds. It runs on a 5x3 grid with a high-volatility engine and a max win of 20,000x the bet.

Math and Session Feel

Default RTP sits at 96.23%, which is a touch above the market median but not top tier. Volatility is rated 5 out of 5, so I'd tell viewers to brace for proper cold streaks. Dry runs of 50 to 100 spins are well within range here.

Bet range goes from 0.10 up to 100, which is flexible enough for most of chat. For a session at this variance I'd want at least 200x the base bet in the bankroll, otherwise you'll get chewed up before the feature even shows up. Not a slot for a quick ten-minute blast, if I'm honest with chat.

Symbols and Paytable

Low pays are the coin royals T, J, Q, K and A, and they're pretty weak, five of a kind only returns between 2x and 4x the bet. That's a wide gap to the premiums, which is classic high-volatility paytable design.

Premiums are Mordred, Morgan, Guinevere and Arthur, with five Arthurs paying up to 100x. The Wild is a battle flag marked Wild that subs for everything except the Scatter, which is a big diamond. You need 3+ on a payline from the leftmost reel to form a win.

Bonus Features

Two features carry this game: the random Win Multiplier and the Free Spins round. On any base game spin the multiplier can pop up showing 2x, 5x, 10x or 100x, and it's applied to whatever that spin pays. When a 100x lands on a decent hit, it's the screenshot moment of the session.

Land 3 or more diamond scatters and Free Spins kicks off with just 5 spins and a 2x multiplier locked on. You then collect scatters on top of the reels to level up. 6 scatters gives 5 extra spins and bumps the multiplier to 5x; 12 scatters adds 5 more and pushes it to 10x; 18 scatters tops it out at 100x with another 5 spins.

Once that 100x is active, scatters stop landing, so you ride out the remaining spins at max multiplier. No Bonus Buy is available, so chat, you'll have to earn this one organically. That's fine by me, but anyone who likes to buy straight in should know upfront.

Ryan Cole’s Verdict

Should I Stream It?

Diamonds of the Realm is worth a session if you're happy to sit through the variance. The multiplier is the star, and when it collides with a premium line hit or that 100x in free spins, it's proper streamer content. Base game can drag between features, I won't pretend otherwise.

It's very much a sequel in feel to The Green Knight and The Sword and the Grail, same vibe, higher ceiling. I'd stream this for the bonus hunts, but I'd warn chat the trigger gives only 5 spins unless you've banked scatters beforehand. High-risk, high-reward, exactly what Play'n GO fans expect.

Diamonds of the Realm FAQ
How do you trigger the Free Spins in Diamonds of the Realm?
Land 3 or more diamond scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. You start with 5 free spins and a 2x win multiplier active throughout the round.
How does the multiplier climb to 100x in the bonus round?
Scatters land on top of the reels during free spins and you collect them. At 6 scatters the multiplier jumps to 5x plus 5 extra spins, 12 scatters takes it to 10x, and 18 scatters maxes it at 100x with more spins added each tier.
Is there a Bonus Buy option in Diamonds of the Realm?
No, Bonus Buy is not available. You have to trigger the free spins feature organically, which keeps the RTP unified rather than split across a buy pool.
What is the maximum win and how do you reach it?
The max win is 20,000x the bet. It realistically only comes through multiplicative stacking of the 100x win multiplier on premium symbol hits during the free spins round.
How does the base game Win Multiplier work?
On any spin the multiplier can randomly activate showing 2x, 5x, 10x or 100x. Whatever value appears is applied to any winnings created on that specific spin, nothing carries over.
