Coils of Cash Overview

Coils of Cash is a Play'n GO slot that plays on a 6-reel, 4-row grid with 2,304 ways to win. Straight away, it reminded me of a Megaways game because of the horizontal top reel and Cascading Wins. The theme is retro-industrial, full of old-timey electrical gear and buzzing machinery. Not the prettiest thing I have ever loaded up, but once the cascades start rolling and those multipliers kick in, it proper comes alive. Max win sits at a whopping 30,000x, which blew my mind for what looks like a fairly compact setup.

Symbols and Paytable

Low-paying symbols are your standard card values from 9 through A, paying up to about 0.8x to 1x the bet for a full six-of-a-kind way. Nothing exciting there. Premium symbols are four different pieces of retro machinery, and a full line of the best one pays 4x your stake.

Wild appears as a glowing blue "W" and it only shows up on the Power Coil top reel above reels 2 to 5. Scatters look like orbs of blue energy and can land anywhere. On their own the paytable values seem modest, but the whole point is those multipliers stacking on top. A decent cascade chain with charged-up coils can turn a small base win into something serious.

Power Coil and Cascading Wins

Every winning combo gets removed from the grid, new symbols drop in, and you keep going until there are no more wins. Standard cascading stuff, feels smooth. Above reels 2 through 5 sits the Power Coil, four extra positions each with a multiplier starting at 1x. Every cascade bumps the relevant reel multiplier up by 1, maxing out at 5x each.

Here is where it gets spicy. These multipliers multiply each other when part of the same winning way. So if you had 5x on all four positions, that is 5 times 5 times 5 times 5, giving you a combined 625x boost. In the base game these reset once your cascade sequence finishes, which is a bit disappointing. Still, even catching two or three of them at 3x or 4x during a good run feels electric.

I will say the base game can drag a bit between decent cascade chains. High volatility means you sit through plenty of dead spins before things click. Patience is required, mate.

Bonus Buy Options

Bonus Buy Free Spins
Free Spins
Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 Scatters to trigger 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins. Power Coil multipliers do not reset between spins. Each additional Scatter during the round awards 2 extra free spins.

Free Spins Feature

Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters and you get 10, 15, 20 or 25 Free Spins respectively. Decent range. Every scatter that lands during the round adds 2 extra spins on top.

Big difference from the base game is that Power Coil multipliers do not reset between free spins. They carry over and keep building. So you can realistically push all four positions towards that 5x cap and start landing wins with the full 625x multiplier applied. That is where the 30,000x max win lives, and honestly it is what makes the whole slot worth your time.

RTP and Volatility

Default RTP is 96.20%, which is fair enough for a high-volatility game. Be careful though, because operators can pick from lower versions at 94.20%, 91.20%, 87.20% or even 84.20%. Always check your version before committing real money. Bets range from 0.10 up to 100 per spin, so casual players and bigger spenders are both covered.

Ryan Cole’s Verdict

Final Verdict

Coils of Cash surprised me. I was not expecting much from the slightly dull retro look, but the multiplier mechanics are proper clever. Play'n GO compressed what feels like a Megaways experience into a tighter grid, and the 30,000x ceiling smashes most of those games. Free spins with persistent multipliers is the real draw here.

Not everyone will love the high volatility or the somewhat bland visuals, and the base game does feel a bit quiet between cascades. But if you enjoy that tension of watching multipliers slowly charge up before everything connects, this one is well worth a few sessions. Grab a cuppa, set a sensible budget and see if you can light up that Power Coil.

Coils of Cash FAQ
How does the Power Coil multiplier work in Coils of Cash?
Each of the four positions above reels 2 to 5 starts at 1x and increases by 1 with every cascading win on that reel, up to a max of 5x. When multiple Power Coil positions are part of the same winning way, their values are multiplied together, so four at 5x gives 625x.
Do the Power Coil multipliers reset during Free Spins?
No. Unlike the base game where they reset after each cascade sequence ends, during Free Spins the multipliers carry over between spins and keep building throughout the entire round.
How many Free Spins can you trigger and can you retrigger them?
You get 10, 15, 20 or 25 Free Spins for landing 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters. During the round, every additional scatter adds 2 more spins, so retriggering is possible.
Where does the Wild symbol appear on the grid?
The Wild only lands on the Power Coil, which is the horizontal top reel sitting above reels 2 to 5. It substitutes for regular pay symbols but you will not find it on the main 6x4 grid.
Are there different RTP versions of Coils of Cash?
Yes. The default is 96.20% but operators can choose from 94.20%, 91.20%, 87.20% or 84.20%. Always verify which version your casino is running before playing with real money.
