Ozzy Osbourne Slot Overview

Right, so Ozzy Osbourne is NetEnt's tribute to the Prince of Darkness himself, released back in November 2019. It's a 5-reel, 3-row slot with 20 paylines and a properly gothic vibe, with creepy gargoyles either side of the grid and Ozzy mugging at you from the high-pay symbols.

I had a fair few spins on this one, and the soundtrack alone is worth a punt. Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon, Diary of a Madman, Mr Crowley. If you're a fan, you'll be grinning. If you're not into heavy metal, well, mate, this probably isn't your slot.

Ozzy Osbourne Slot Information

Bets start at 0.20 and run up to 100 per spin if you've got the Bonus Bet on. Volatility is high according to most reviews, though one source pegs it as medium, so expect somewhere in between with proper dry patches between features. Hit frequency sits around 25%, which is decent enough for keeping things ticking over.

RTP and Max Win

Default RTP is 96.30%, but flipping on the Bonus Bet nudges it up to 96.67%, which is the version you want. Be warned though, some dodgy casinos run a 94% version, so always check the info screen once you're logged in with real cash.

Max win is 2500x your bet. Fair enough for a branded slot, but I'll be honest, it's a bit modest compared to the 5,000x or 10,000x you see elsewhere. Don't come here chasing life-changing money, come for the tunes and the bonus features.

Symbols and Paytable

Low-pay symbols are dressed-up card suits: spades with a blue rose, clubs with a cross, diamonds with a skull and hearts with a black raven. They pay between 5x and 7.5x for a full line of five. Nothing exciting.

High-pays are four versions of Ozzy himself on blue, green, yellow and red backgrounds, paying 12.5x to 50x for five of a kind. The bloody Ozzy is the top dog. The bat is your Wild and substitutes for everything except the Scatter, which only lands on reels 1, 3 and 5.

Bonus Features

Two big features here. Re-Spin kicks in when you land 2 Scatters, and it runs the Symbol Charge Up, picking a random symbol then slapping it with a modifier: Coin Win, Symbol Multiplier (2x or 3x base, 5x or 7x with Bonus Bet), Wild conversion, or Upgrade to the next paytable symbol up.

Three Scatters trigger Free Spins: 4 spins on the base bet, 5 with Bonus Bet on. Every free spin runs Symbol Charge Up, multipliers stack up to 12x, and a Scatter on the spinner gives you an extra spin. The Bonus Bet doubles your stake but cuts the free spins frequency from once in 259 spins down to once in 140. Big difference.

💬 What Players Say
Fans of Ozzy love the soundtrack and gothic vibe, but plenty of players grumble about the modest 2500x max win and the lack of a bonus buy. Based on 4 reviews.
Ryan Cole’s Verdict

Final Verdict

Honestly, Ozzy Osbourne is a solid slot for a relaxed evening session if you're a fan of the man. The Symbol Charge Up keeps things from feeling stale, the Bonus Bet genuinely improves the maths, and the soundtrack is properly fun.

Not everyone will love it though. The 2500x max win is underwhelming, no bonus buy is a shame in 2024, and if you don't care for heavy metal the theme will grate. For me it's a 7 out of 10. Decent for a few quid here and there, just don't expect to retire on it.

Ozzy Osbourne FAQ
How does the Bonus Bet work in Ozzy Osbourne?
Bonus Bet doubles your stake (40 coins instead of 20), bumps RTP from 96.30% to 96.67%, triggers Re-Spins once every 14 spins instead of 22, gives Free Spins once every 140 spins instead of 259, and adds an extra free spin when triggered.
What does the Symbol Charge Up actually do?
Before a Re-Spin or Free Spin, a feature spinner picks a random symbol then a modifier. Options are Coin Win, Symbol Multiplier (2x-7x), Wild transformation, or Upgrade to the next higher symbol on the paytable.
How many free spins do you get and how are they triggered?
Three Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 trigger 4 free spins on the base bet or 5 with Bonus Bet active. You can win extra spins if a Scatter is picked during the Symbol Charge Up.
Is there a bonus buy in Ozzy Osbourne?
No, NetEnt didn't include a bonus buy feature. The closest thing is the Bonus Bet, which roughly doubles your chances of triggering features but doesn't drop you straight into them.
What's the max win and how do you hit it?
Max win is 2500x your bet. To get close you'll need free spins re-triggers, multiple Symbol Multiplier modifiers stacking up to 12x, and plenty of Upgrade modifiers shifting low-pays into the high-pay Ozzy symbols.
