Magnum Opus Slot Overview
Magnum Opus is an alchemy-themed slot from Endorphina, built on a compact 3x3 grid with just 5 paylines. I loaded this up expecting something stripped back, and that is exactly what you get. No wilds, no scatters, no free spins. Instead the entire draw is a tiered Golden Elixir Bonus Game that triggers when you fill all 9 positions with matching elements.
Visually it leans into the mystic laboratory theme. Flasks, crystals, moons, lions. Medium volatility and an RTP of 96.01% keep it fairly steady. If I'm honest with chat, it is not the flashiest game on stream, but the bonus mechanic has a quirky progression that sets it apart from your standard 3x3 classic.

Symbols and Paytable
Payouts here are straightforward since everything revolves around three-of-a-kind combos across 5 paylines. The Lion sits at the top, paying 150x your base bet for a full line. Below that, the Moon pays 40x. The Violet Crystal comes in at 8x. All wins must start from the leftmost reel on adjacent positions.
Because the grid is only 3x3, you are always looking at three-symbol combos. No wild symbol exists in this game. Only the highest win per payline counts, but wins across different paylines do add together. Keep in mind there are also nature element symbols tied to the bonus trigger, which I will cover next.

Golden Elixir Bonus and Risk Game
Here is where Magnum Opus gets interesting. Land 9 identical element-of-nature symbols across all reel positions and you trigger the Golden Elixir Bonus Game. You are taken into an alchemist's lab and must guide the Alchemist through a progression: copper first (2x multiplier), then silver (4x), then gold (8x). You cannot skip straight to gold.
At each stage you pick an element to add. If the experiment succeeds, you move up. If it fails, the bonus ends and you keep only the last multiplier you unlocked. So there is genuine risk baked in. Only one multiplier applies per round, not a sum of all three. The bonus cannot re-trigger during itself either.
On top of that, a classic Risk Game lets you gamble any base game win for double-or-nothing, up to 10 consecutive times. Simple but effective for padding smaller hits. Not everyone will enjoy that the bonus trigger requires a full 9-of-a-kind, though. On a 3x3 grid with medium volatility, that can take a while.

Volatility and RTP
RTP sits at 96.01%, which is about average. Volatility is medium, so you should expect a fairly balanced rhythm between small wins and dry patches. Bets range from 0.05 up to 200, giving plenty of room for different bankrolls. I did not find a confirmed max win figure, but with the 8x bonus multiplier on top of the 150x lion symbol, the ceiling is modest compared to high-volatility slots.
